Peripheral Wand Support Page
Wider visual span. Smoother flow. Stronger meaning.
Video & Image Guides Coming Soon
We are currently creating clear images, short videos, and step-by-step setup guides to help you get the best from your Peripheral Wand.
Please check back soon.
In the meantime, you do not need a video to get started.
Here is your simple starting guide.
What the Peripheral Wand Helps With
The Peripheral Wand is the next-stage tool for building word grouping, visual span, and smoother reading flow.
It is designed to support readers who:
read one word at a time
want to group words together
want to build smoother reading flow
want to widen their visual span gradually
rely heavily on reading every word one at a time in their head
Instead of one green point, the Peripheral Wand gives your eyes several green points to follow.
These points support word grouping by reducing unnecessary eye movements and helping your attention stay with the meaning.
They also help your brain process small groups of words more smoothly.
This supports the move from:
word-by-word reading
to
meaningful word groups
How to Start
Start Supported, Then Reduce Support
Start with the correct support level for your wand.
Depending on your setup, this may be:
5 NeoTips
Neo4Edge
Neo4Curve
The aim is not to make it harder straight away.
The aim is to give your eyes clear points to follow first.
Start by grouping around 2 words near each NeoTip or marker.
Once this feels comfortable, you can gradually remove support.
How Progression Works
The Peripheral Wand works by slowly widening the space between fixation points.
This helps your eyes practise grouping more words together.
You may move from:
2-word groups
to
3-word groups
to
wider phrase groups
You progress by removing a NeoTip or reducing the number of markers.
This encourages your peripheral vision span to expand gradually.
Only move on when you can still:
read smoothly
understand the sentence
remember the meaning
explain what you have read
How to Use It
1. The Assembly
Connect the multi-slot bar to the main handle.
Make sure it feels secure before reading.
2. The Setup
Place the NeoTips, NeoEdge, or NeoCurve into position.
Start with the supported setup first.
The green points should guide your eyes across the line.
3. The Technique
Place the wand under or above the first line of text.
Look at the first green point.
Use your wider vision to notice and visualise the small group of words around it.
Read that small group as one meaningful unit.
4. The Shift
Move your eyes to the next pointer and read the next small group.
Then continue across the line.
Move the wand down to the next line and repeat.
What to Focus on First
Focus on grouping, not rushing.
Your first goal is to move away from reading every word separately.
When it feels appropriate, practise noticing and visualising small groups of words as meaningful units, rather than working through every word separately.
Speed can build later.
Meaning comes first.
You Are Using It Well When:
you make fewer eye movements per line
reading feels smoother
the line feels easier to follow
you group words more naturally
you understand the sentence
you can explain what you have just read
your eyes feel less strained after a few paragraphs
Remember
Reading is a learned skill.
Your eyes, attention, and brain need time to work together in this new pattern.
Short, regular practice is better than long, forced sessions.
Start with 5–10 minutes.
Build gradually.
The goal is not speed alone.
The goal is:
Flow + Meaning + Response = Better Understanding
Read smoothly.
Understand clearly.
Respond with confidence.
